Below I explain in an extensive blog what all the products are for and how to use them.
It is not the case that every dreadhead has to use everything, on the contrary!
Still, I get a lot of questions about small & large dread problems, and almost everything can be solved with one of the products that rawroots offers.
Shampoo
Dreadlock ShampooChoosing the right shampoo is essential for caring for dreadlocks. Here are our recommendations for RAW ROOTs shampoos depending on your scalp type:
Normal scalp:
Greenie Genie Dreadlock Shampoo Bar: Perfect for young dreadlocks. Contains Himalayan salt, hemp oil, neem and nettle, which strengthen the hair and scalp and prevent dandruff.
Hydrating shampoo liquid : The Hydrating Shampoo has fresh and clean scents of organic essential oils of geranium, lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus.
Oily scalp:
Herbal Cleanser Dreadlock Shampoo liquid : With natural plant extracts, soothes the scalp and has a low pH value, which helps with irritation and itching.
Dry and sensitive scalp:
Muddy Luxury Dreadlock Shampoo Bar: Contains jojoba oil and cocoa butter, with clay from the Atlas Mountains. Gently cleanses and conditions the skin.
Simply Calm Dreadlock Shampoo Bar : A mild shampoo bar with flower extracts of chamomile, calendula and lavender, which soothes irritated skin.
Sprays
At Dreads&Frutsels we offer multiple types of sprays. But what is the difference? Let's start with the Tightening sprays .
You can use the Tightening spray when making dreads, but also after showering. It gives a nice salty effect.
I spray my dreads every time after washing them, because of the lovely scents. And also in between, when I actually need to wash them but I'm postponing it. They are available in 5 different scents. 4 with a scent, and 1 natural spray.
Tightening spray is ideal for younger dreadlocks. Because they can still use some help with the felting process.
If you want to try the fragrances in 1 set, we also offer a tester set.
In addition, we also have a Refreshing spray / Mist. These are Refreshing sprays and deodorizers for dreadlocks. Refreshing Mist can be used as a fragrance spray and "between" hair washes. With natural and organic ingredients. It refreshes and removes unpleasant odors. It cares for and cleanses the hair between washes. And is suitable for all hair types.
We also offer these sprays in a tester set.
Rescue Tonic
This amazing all-over spray is a combination of botanical extracts that helps troubled skin and scalp by cooling, soothing and hydrating exposed areas.
A spray that you can use for ITCHING! I use this in the summer, in a sultry climate. First aid for itching, so to speak 😉 I also often put the bottle in the fridge, which gives a lovely cooling effect in the summer! And really saves a lot of scratching.
Creeps Tincture Help LICE! This spray is effective and easy to use, because you don't have to comb through your hair or even wash it afterwards. The tincture does NOT need to be rinsed out and after just two treatments you can be sure that lice and eggs are dead. It removes and prevents new infestations - and also great for children who are resistant to 'normal' (chemical filled) remedies or you just don't want to feed your children with unnecessary chemicals!
These were all the types of sprays. Now let's move on to the more caring products of this line. One of my favorite products, and indispensable in my personal collection.
The Manuka gel Aloe Manuka Gel is a luxurious gel for frizzy hair, curls and dreadlocks. Certified organic aloe vera provides a firm hold and together with Manuka the hair is nourished and kept healthy. Organic essential oils work antibacterial and provide a fresh scent of sweet lavender and fresh grapefruit.
The Manuka gel helps you with palm rolling.
The gel is not a real gel, but a watery substance of course with only natural ingredients.
It ensures that all loose hairs are not only around the dread, but also in it 🙂 and therefore you will have less trouble with loose hairs faster.
Dry Shampoo Lock powder & Texturizer
Lock powder can be used when setting and touching up dreadlocks. It also works as a dry shampoo, you can use lock powder between washes to absorb excess oil from the scalp and add volume.
Conditioner bar Conditioner bar for the care of non-dreaded hair, open ends, loose ends, bangs and the loose hair of partial dreadlocks. This conditioner bar is also very suitable for use when combing out dreadlocks or removing synthetic dreadlocks where your hair needs care and combing is easier.
Deep clean
As known to many, an extra thorough cleaner that gets all build-up out of your dreads. We sell 2 types of deep cleans A deep clean set and a Bar.
The dreadlock detox Deep Cleansing Bomb Deeply cleanses your dreadlocks and gives you healthier hair and a healthier scalp. Over time, dirt and product residue build up in the hair and can be difficult to clean with shampoo. This dreadlocks detox is specially formulated to remove build-up and residue from products, sweat and pollution in your dreads.
Deep clean Bar
This unique formula is designed to provide a deep cleanse while preserving the integrity of your dreadlocks, leaving your hair refreshed, revitalized and infused with a harmonious blend of essential oils. Perfect for you who don't wash your hair that often and the best companion for dreadlock detox after the treatment.
oils
Hydrating oil.
This oil nourishes and stimulates your hair and scalp. I only use it in the winter (when you can make drawings on your skin 😉 )
For skin that is too dry.
Hair De-Greasing Shot -
This oil is specially made for a flaky scalp & if you have very greasy dreads for example.
Oil Treatment
You can use this oil shot if your dreads feel very rough and hard.
It makes your dreads nice and soft.
